MEXICALI
Mexicali is the capital of
Baja California in northwestern Mexico. It is located in the Mexicali
Valley. It is an extension of the Imperial Valley, directly south of
the U.S. border from the city of Calexico, California. Mexicali is an
important transportation and commercial center for the surrounding agricultural
region, and many foreign companies have set up factories there.
The largest commercial area of Mexicali is the border business district. It contains shops and restaurants that cater to tourist. There are numerous nightclubs and piano bars within walking distance of the international border.Mexicali is known as "The city that captures the sun" having long, hot summers and short, cold winters. It has an average rain precipitation of a little more than 3 inches a year. |
